Duff & Phelps is hiring an Associate in India Finance team for Senior Payroll specialist to run payroll process for multiple entities.

The role will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of process processing, coordination with payroll services providers, statutory filing, liaison with various service providers, controlling accounting entries for all legal entities of India, performing support for taxes related to employees and filing all payroll related returns, assisting India Finance team on all required area of Finance & Accounts of India entities.

  • Understand and perform all phases of the payroll process

  • Planning and execution of Monthly Payroll and responsible for timely and accurate end to end payroll cycle

  • Adhere and Comply with statutory provisions like PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, Bonus, Gratuity etc.

  • Create practices to minimize company risk pertaining to payroll non-compliances

  • Prepare monthly payroll general ledger accounts reconciliations

  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

  • Perform audit of payroll registers prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

  • SPOC with payroll service provider

  • Research and investigate payroll discrepancies and employee payroll issues

  • Assist employees with questions and respond timely and with a customer friendly approach

  • Assist with garnishment administration and other special payroll deductions where applicable

  • Generate variety of payroll reports to include monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting and special reports requested by business leaders

  • Generate ad-doc reports to analyze payroll data.

  • Process off cycle pay runs and process manual checks when required

  • Providing assistance and co-ordinating with the audit teams for all applicable audits

  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/Checklists and ensures that policies and procedures are being adhered to (i. e. salary increases, bonus payouts and other compensation transactions) keep written procedures updated

  • Build strong working relationships with HR Partners, Benefits Team, Accounting and others

  • Performs other duties within finance functions as assigned by management over and above payroll related activities.

Qualifications / Competencies / Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 6-8 years of payroll experience

  • General accounting knowledge, including knowledge of payroll accounting

  • Proficient in Workday and ADP products.

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with all personality types and under strict deadlines

  • High level of professionalism and demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of employees

  • Strong Excel skills required

  • Pristine work ethic and ability to handle sensitive and confidential material

  • Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills, teamwork

  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
