We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our fast-growing, dynamic and entrepreneurial 3rd party Management Company/AIFM based in Luxembourg, with a special intention to reinforce our operations and oversight activities. The ideal candidate will have the responsibility of enhancing our operational oversight of delegates (FA, TA, Depo), while supporting clients and fund onboarding activities. This role would suit an agile and dynamic individual with strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Your responsibilities will be to ensure the day-to-day controls on delegated duties of the funds under management (e.g.: Fund Administrations, Transfer Agents and Depositary Banks, in particular controls on NAV monitoring, reconciliation, valuations of assets, regular reporting, monitoring of KPI's) for both UCITS and AIFs.
  • Identify and ensure that all issues that have been reported, corrected and preventive solutions have been implemented
  • In parallel, you should contribute in the oversight of delegated operational functions through due diligence activities, monitor KPI’s and operational reports
  • Liaising and coordinate with clients and service providers
  • Liaise with the Conducting Officers and contribute to regular reports, maintain documentation, identify potential breaches and escalate when required
  • Contribute to quarterly fund Boards, notably key performance indicators including status of due diligence activities and findings
  • Being able to assist in client onboarding projects, set-up of new funds, changes to fund structures, and implementation of operational solutions while providing high quality client services through quick responsiveness, ensure SLAs and processes are agreed before launch
  • Contribute to strengthening the company’s procedures to guarantee regulatory compliance and improve operational effectiveness
  • Help support the business development strategy, through ongoing client relationships or via industry networks (e.g. working groups)
  • Leverage the group’s network (both internal and external) and optimize the use of internal monitoring systems to foster up-selling and cross-selling
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University degree in finance or economics or relevant business experience
  • Between 5 and 7 years of hands-on experience
  • Professional experience within the fund business in oversight duties and/or fund administration, good understanding of investment funds operations
  • Good understanding of NAV and accounting processes, pricing/valuations and practices
  • Additional exposure in at least one of the following areas will be a distinct advantage:
    • Valuation of illiquid assets such as credit, PE
    • Legal, contractual and governance requirements of a similar business
    • Fund legal and operational onboarding
  • Experience in asset management and investment funds, in a Management Company/AIFM or a BIG 4 consultant/auditor
  • Genuine interest in developing regulatory expertise, with a specific focus on UCITS and AIFMD frameworks
  • Good command of Excel, Word and excellent PowerPoint
  • Solution-driven and results-oriented, problem solving attitude, constructive Client oriented mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on various time scales, strong follow-up and client servicing qualities
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Fluency in English + French and/or German
  • Previous exposure to alternative investment strategies, namely Private Equity, Real Estate, Loans Origination/Restructuring, and Hedge Funds would be valuable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
  • Experience working with diverse teams
