We are currently seeking a Sr Accountant for our Mexico City Office.  This position is primarily responsible for processing detailed financial data to be used in various analyses and journal entries.

  • Ensure all fiscal functions are in accordance with all relevant regulations including, but not limited to. US GAAP and Argentine Accounting Standards, FASB and the SEC (and AFIP), FINRA and international regulatory authorities, as applicable
  • Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place so that assets are protected, use of funds is optimized, revenue is appropriately recorded, and cash is properly managed
  • Oversees and continues to build the financial management organization
  • Lead the team to provide a timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends
  • Oversees the Company's financial internal controls
  • Directs the monthly financial close process and financial reporting process
  • Manages a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, revenues and expenses and assets, liabilities and equity
  • Responsible for enhancement, development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation, effectiveness and control environment of the organization
  • Provide support to strategic acquisitions and/or mergers as required
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Company's auditors
  • Manages the international finance functions and statutory accounting process
  • Works closely with the Company's tax function and strategic tax planning
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Chief Accounting Officer
  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited university
  • CPA certification/designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working across accounting/reporting/finance in a management position
  • Expertise and experience with revenue recognition for a professional services firm and experience with public reporting requirements in a high growth/high performance, high demand, customer service oriented professional and financial services firm.
  • Working knowledge of SEC reporting and regulatory reporting requirements a plus
  • Understanding of an advisory business is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP, Argentine Accounting Standards and Sarbanes Oxley and knowledge of accounting for equity compensation is preferred
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex business issues
  • Must be able to see the big picture and be guided in daily decisions by an overall understanding of what is best for the company over the long term
  • Ability to be very hands on and comfortable taking direct responsibility for deliverables
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening, presentation and interpersonal skills (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to convey simple to complex financial information to individuals and groups
  • Comfortable and effective in influencing others and eliciting cooperation from a wide variety of sources
  • Ability to drive for results and accept challenges
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision while reporting results and conferring with superiors on unusual matters and seeking feedback as needed
