The Transaction Opinions group provides independent opinions for boards of directors and special committees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Development: Generate new Fairness Opinion, Solvency Opinion, Board Advisory and M&A opportunities from your existing and future network.
  • Engagement Execution: Lead engagement teams of three or more professionals; oversee the financial analysis and the preparation of opinion letters and presentation documents, and deliver oral presentations to clients.
  • Risk Management:  Assist with the review of Fairness Opinions and Solvency Opinions within the Transaction Opinions practice. 
  • Private Equity Coverage:  Be responsible for cultivating relationships with a select group of private equity firms likely to have opinion needs, distribute Duff& Phelps’ M&A product as appropriate.
  • Cross Selling:  Sell clients the other services that Duff & Phelps provides.
  • Staff Development:  Mentor and develop Staff, Vice Presidents and Directors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience at bulge bracket, reputable boutique, middle-market or regional investment bank with demonstrable Fairness Opinion and Board of Director advisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and /or J.D. degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with managing client relationships and engagements.
  • Candidate should be an established individual with an existing referral network and reasonable prospects of generating meaningful revenue in year one.
  • Demonstrated record of leadership and effective management in matrixed organizations
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
