Job Description and Requirements
The HRIS Specialist manages the day to day operations of our Human Resource Information System (HRIS). This includes creating, modifying and distributing HRIS reports, assists in managing all aspects of HRIS including employee self-service, manger self-service, enters employment transactions into the HRIS and serves as liaison to payroll and IT. The HRIS Specialist may support other related systems for employee data. This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Specialist also supports HRMS upgrades, patches, testing and other Human Capital and technical projects as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and implement effective and efficient HR processes to support business requirements; includes remote employee population
Analyze HR operations and related metrics to identify errors, user training needs and efficiency trends; implement related improvements
Provide data management support for HR-supported systems, iVantage
Participate in and/or manage various HR projects as a functional expert/representative. Projects typically impact multiple systems, processes and/or third party administrators
Provide first level application and operations support to users of HR systems, including Leaders as appropriate. This includes problem identification & resolution, local and report system support, reporting and user training
Gather report requirements and communicate those needs clearly. Responsibilities will include support of regulatory reports and ad hoc data needs
Ensure the accuracy and quality of HR system information as used by management, third party administrators and regulatory authorities. Includes monitoring and analyzing HR information flow through manual and automated processes
Provide support including, but not limited to, researching and resolving problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements
Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation. Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll). Use project management skills in managing projects. May provide overall project management for a given HR initiative
Write, maintain, support and deliver a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data
Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train clients on new processes/functionality. Train new system users
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Liberal Arts
Experience using / managing HRIS systems (iVantage preferred)
Minimum five years relevant experience in a corporate IT department
Demonstrated ability in independent functioning
Ability to manage projects and initiatives
Sound analytical skills
Excellent organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Understanding of confidentiality and privacy rules
Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
